Married head Graham Daniels, 51, and chemistry teacher Bethan Thomas, 37, face being struck off after being overheard by students who used their smartphones to make a "sex tape" which they later published online.
Both Mr Daniels and Miss Thomas - formerly Mrs Bale - resigned from the 750 pupil Bryntawe Comprehensive School in Swansea, South Wales, after the tape emerged.
Both could be struck off the teaching register for "unacceptable professional conduct" at the Cardiff disciplinary hearing of the Education Workforce Committee.
The pair are accused of taking part "in sexual acts and/or inappropriate behaviour with another member of staff on School premises."
They are also alleged to have "exposed pupils to the behaviour which was recorded by a pupil and subsequently uploaded to social media sites."
Louise Price, the presenting officer, told the hearing it was well known in the school prior to the pairs suspension that they were in some sort of relationship.
