Barcelona's Gerard Pique faces ban of 4-12 games for vile abuse of linesman in Super Cup loss

Defender Gerard Pique could miss up to 12 games of Barcelona's league title defence after being sent off in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup.

The former Manchester United man took aim at the assistant referee, screaming "I s*** on your w**** of a mother" in his face as he raged over the decision before being pulled away by teammates.

4-0 down from the first leg, Barca led 1-0 before the centre-back was sent off - virtually ending their chances of a famous comeback. Then Aritz Aduriz scored late-on for Athletic Club to seal their first trophy for 31 years.
