Michigan Couple Welcomes 13th Son

The Schwandt family is giving new meaning to the phrase "all boys' club." On Wednesday morning, Michigan parents Jay and Kateri, both 40, welcomed their 13th son. Weighing in at 8 pounds 15 ounces, their newest addition joins big brothers: Tyler, 22; Zach, 19; Drew, 18; Brandon, 16; Tommy, 13; Vinnie, 12; Calvin, 10; Gabe, 8; Wesley, 6; Luke, 3; and Tucker, 1.

Per family tradition, the couple waited to find out the sex of their baby. But when they met their new little boy, they rushed to celebrate with family members. "OK, so the boys know now! It's a BOY! Now we need to choose a name! BLESSED beyond belief," Jay posted on Facebook.

Before welcoming her new son, Kateri expressed that she wouldn't mind having a daughter. "If we had a little girl, that would be neat," she told The Grand Rapids Press last week. She also said she would be happy with another boy too. Her husband, Jay, on the other hand, disagreed: "If I could put my order in, I would root for a girl. I've done all the boy stuff. I'd just like to experience it from the other side once."
